Stereotyping
Let me just draw a simple picture: You go anywhere and you meet 2 people, one smartly dressed and another more relaxed/casually dressed. Which is better? Which is more intelligent? Who of them is best?
In your ever changing world, women are perhaps the most harshly judged. Wear something too short, you're a slut, wear something too nice, you're a snob. It something that really bugs me personally. People are judged by everything they do regardless if it's good or bad. Ironically and most importantly of all, most women feel comfortable in what they wear. I have meet people who work in every shade of life and meeting them outside of their work place brings out the real them. Some actually do dress up in hoddies, dresses or short skirts. If their comfortable like that, so what, good for them. However, their actions to an outsider are sadly further subjective to stereotyping.
Somehow, you are judged by what the world, media and the people around you think of you. You are instantly placed into a category which you are expected to obey and do conditionally and without protest. We have all since we were very young thought what stereotyping is, or at least have a glimmer of what on consist of, from cloths to the attitude it brings alone with it and what society expects of us. Sometimes they are quite true and correct, but other times they are so wrong I'm surprised it doesn't cause some sort of paradox.
I have personally experience this. I come from a country where racism still is a modern day problem and the colour of your skin is actually considered a bad thing. It's funny and it makes me laugh. If you're an arib, you're considered to be a theorist, if you're black a drug dealer and blond considered dumb. You never really seam to win no matter what you do but you get use to it and if you're like me, you find the humour in it.
It is wrong to judge people on what they dress or how they look, though the way they look and dress actually gives of the image of who they are or who they want to be.
I just hope that people just come out as who they are and perhaps they get to know that person who is behind the façade
