Anime: a brief history from the part, 2000's till today.

Anime refers to anything drawn up in a story, with detailed characters and at times complex plots and is an anime typical in  Japan. The style has evolved greatly form it's early ages of fairy tale stores, robots and overpower superheroes to more complex, action packed and deeper characters whilst also evolving it's unique aesthetic style that anime is known for.

Anime Genre List

From old school to new school, anime is constantly evolving and taking now apporaches and new angles on how and what stores they tell us, ranging from horror to fantasy, drama to action in over seven  generas.

I'm by far no anime buff. I only started watching anime when I was some 22 and the first anime I watched was 'Attack on Titan' (note: it's not a wise idea to watch it while eating a pizza....and we're still waiting for season 2!).

My interpretation of anime is this: it's a set of cartoons drawn in a particular iconic style that encompass more mature, open-minded approaches compared to the cartoons we see on others channels. The collection of such works, most of which are intended for mature content, focus more on real life situations and scenarios in which older individuals can associate with the character in question.

What draws people to them? The most common answer is the more adult themes they take on, from love to strategy to sometimes straight up awesomeness and badassary (i'm talking about you Siatama).

Not only that, but the characters have much more dept to them, each with their own unique set of styles and skills associated to them. With a much more complex cast and the main character usually portrayed as a weak, sometimes puny individual who through a series gains power (which is what most fans root for), the plots of anime can be both more complex and sometimes take very dark, twisted paths (such an anime is Fullmetal Alchemist. You know EXACTLY which parts I'm talking about).

The 'Golden Era of Anime', which gave us Dragon Ball to mention one, changed they style of anime itself for a more dynamic in both drawing, plots and stories, not to mention they are more ecstatically appealing to the younger audience due to their vibrant colors.

Where does anime stand now? For starters, anime is big money and most of the work is done via computers, cutting the time it take to make an episode. This also offers the opportunity to make a series much longer (an example are Bleach and One Piece, ranging 366 and a whooping 615+ episodes respectivly). Over that, most of it's characters are constantly evolving and episodes are full of side plots, secrets and drama associated with situations found most of the time in life.

HOWEVER, what might be noticeable is that in recent years, women in anime tend to be more exposed. As typical to most anime nowadays due to an intentional style due to women's 'hour-glass' shape, which explains why they always have such thin waists and *eqhem* exaggeratedly proportioned body parts. This is best put to effect in Highschool DxD, where most of the girls have exaggerated attributes associated with their busts.

Anime creators keep on surprising us with new and elaborated stories and characters (take One Punch Man and Tokyo Ghoul, which on their release rocked the anime world with their new and unique approaches. Their second and third season respectively should be out this year). Considering also that most of us just don't want to grow up, it'll be around for many, many years to come.
