Jingle Bells
It's the season to be jolly, tralalalala, lalalala....we're heard this over and over again many times before along with countless blessings of Happy New Years. A time to kick back after extravagant spending, relax, surround yourself with family and loved ones and reflect on oneself.
Perhaps it's cause I have gotten use to work during these festivities, so it's a routine to me, that most best wishes on such festivities rarely seam to have any significant to me. Ether way, the joy of such festivities only comes when I consider that I don't have to go to school for 2 weeks, giving me some time to catch up on certain things and reflect on myself and my performance over the year.
It could be that I have gotten into the habit of doing this, but I personally reflect deeply on myself and begin to write my own list of things I want to do in the coming year, which usually consists of ether new things I want to do/try or an addition to things I haven't done last year. It's fascinating to me, for the sheer amount of things I want to do tends to never decrease and over time become more complex and personal. It's as if I no longer focusing on people around me and what they're doing, but I focus deeply on yourself and what I want. Mind, people around you still influence you in some way or another, hence why I write my list alone whilst searching for fascinating things that will inspire my drive for something different.
Of course, there is a slight downside. For a while now, I have neglected my lists, ether through excuses or my personal weakness to the manipulation of individuals in my life. It could also have been due to my own...insecurities or instabilities if you may. I suppose everyone goes through that part/chunk of their lives where they're just going were the wind takes them or bow down to whatever is going on or being said, and I am no different.
However, eventually everyone gets that spark to do things their way and focus on them and them alone. Some of us are still not there whilst others are. I personally, have finally arrived at this point, hence as of next year, I insist that push myself to complete as much of my over-due list.
What about you? Have you made a list and if so, are there any things that are left over from last year?
