Standing Out

Why be part of the crowd?
People find confidence when they are surrounded by people that have the same ideal, views, thoughts, etc like each other. It happens with both you and me: you hang around people who are like you or have the same interests as you. Although like me, you probably have that one friend who does things his way, particularly dresses up his way.
Personally, I feel that I do stand out. I go out in a hoddie cause I feel comfortable that way, even though I'm surrounded by people dressed in shirts. I don't mind or care. It you're constable in your shirt, then so be it, no one had any right to judge. However, when you dress up just to be part of something, then to me it's ironic. People sacrifice comfort just to fit in, because like most things in life that stand out get stomped down.
While I was out yesterday, I had a laugh. Everyone was dressed the same. Obviously there were different shades, colours and prints and so on and so forth, but from my perspective it just looked stupid to me. Plus it's easy to understand. People are scared of something that stands out, considering it to be foreign/exotic. So the go for something that they're comfortable with, which usually is both mainstream and sometimes boring.

Considering, it could be I'm being to harsh. Everyone, especially at a young age goes through this, the fear or not being part of the group. I suppose the older you get, the more you focus on being comfortable yourself rather then being part of the group.
Sadly, you still get stomped here and there, but at least your comfortable ;)
