Educational Pressure

Hazzar!!! At last I finally managed to find some free time to write something down. Did ya miss me? :P It has been too long since I last wrote something down, mainly cause I've been really backed up cause of school, which has brought me to an interesting thought.

School. The mystical place were as kids we are told to go to if we want to have a good future; which considering, isn't so far from the truth. The same goes if you don't get any education at all, you cannot progress forward or be a functional member within society ( here, referring to the simplest and most basic forms of education). However, the further up the ladder you climb, the more complex the work load gets and that is something that should expected. But still, where do you draw the line between work and freedom, simplicity and complication?

By law, at least in my country, you are to go to school till the age of 16, which sounds fair. Then you are ether expected to work or further progress in your studies, which again is 100% fair. A big majority of people in an ideal circumstance will chose to progress onwards through education, but there is sadly quite a major gap in the upcoming 2 years. It is sad, because most individuals cannot comprehend or manage the great gap that exists between educational levels and I for one cannot blame them, being that somehow, I am nearly scraping by. And for one, I can assure myself and find comfort in the fact that I am not the only one.

Which brings me to my main point: How much is too much? Fair enough, the older you get and the greater you progress in anything you do; time management is ESSENTIAL. To find and maintain that balance between what you want and what has to be done is extremely vital, whilst falling out of balance is so easy. And yet, most of us do and we're stuck running around after everything to reach deadlines. It happens to all of us, even myself. But who or what is to blame?

The truth is: no one really knows who or what to blame. Sometimes you give your 100% in what you do and in what you want and it doesn't pay off. You give in the extra work, you do your hours, study and sometimes....it doesn't add up. At first, people blame the workload and considering to a point, I agree. The great leap between educational levels puts pressure on the student to move forward and keep up, even through much greater and tougher quality and quantity of material to study. It is a burden and at times a headache to keep up with the demand and what is expected from the student. And most times, under all that pressure, the student ether quits, goes on a 'fuck all' spree or, my personal favourite, becomes laid back. In fact, it's the most common and popular option: most of the times, you are relaxed and chilled, revising lightly and doing your work. But when it's crunch time, you push at your 100%. Obviously it does have it's drawbacks, but it is the best and most viable option in my opinion.

Some of us however become too laid back and fall out of balance still. Ether way, you can't really seam to win. And yet we all find comfort in the same old saying: "Others have done it before, so why can't I?"
If only all things really ever were that easy.............
