What if?

So the other day while I was working i got this really strange thought, especially now that I'm in a moment in my life were decisions are now mine and mine alone. As well as I recall whilst during my studies I overheard someone saying something about change, or time to change which made me think: what if?

It's not the wording itself that got to me, but the concept of it which I find intriguing. Your actions now, here at this moment, dictate your future. You have a choice as to whether you do this or that, but the result from the 2 is completely different and has a totally different impact on what happens with you in your life. That's quite simple and straight forward. Now, let's expand it.

Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light-bulb. He had to make countless choices and estimations to create a light-bulb, something which we take for granted in our modern lives. But his choices, his destination have change the world and is now quite an irreversible way. Karl Marx's work has been the fuel for countless marches towards change and progress, the revilement of oppression and the aiming to find common ground.

So..what is it I'm playing at here? It's not just the question of thought or choice, let alone the action in itself. More over it's the thinking process that makes you go".........what if..........?" Our constant hunger for knowledge, change and progress is something that is undeniable and yet at it's basis is so simple, we want to be better. Most changes come from simple accidents and mistakes which spark great and unimaginable changes. Just think about the microwave and that will give you a simple picture of it all. But still, it does make you wonder; what can change the world?

Change is an undeniable force and mostly most of us want to just change ourselves to be better. But moreover, what if our actions, our drive to be better IS what changes the world? We could be considered an inspiration years later, yet it can be just by simple chance and choice that we came to be as the individuals we are today. Changing the world.

Moreover, the 'what if' principle has a much deeper meaning. Apart for our hunger to change, it is also a sign of hope. Our minds keep thinking, keep looking for things and ways things can better, to understand and explain. "What if" give us another option, another way something can be done. It makes us question ourselves and what we want to do and for some of us, it leads us down a road of personal discovery.

Maybe it's a long shot from my part, or my mind has been wondering around for a bit too long. But think about it, what if.........?
